Welcome to the Hanging Gardens of Bali, where we were lucky enough to get an upgrade to the Panoramic Villa with our own infinite pool. But since we are only able to pay even for the actually booked room for 2 nights, we really want to make use of the short time we can spend there. That’s why, although the bed is really comfortable and you would love to just stay in there while watching the clouds moving in front of your windows, listening to the rain drops falling onto the water surface of the pool, we got up early and went with the “Polybahn” downwards to the main building to get our breakfast.

The title image shows the view from breakfast table with the two common infinite pools one respectively two floors lower. On the other side of the valley, one can barely see it, is a small temple facing the hotel, which can also be booked as a location for special dinners, e.g. for just married couples. It is therefore not really surprising that we get asked by almost everyone if we are on honeymoon since we started our way to the Hanging Gardens. While our answer remains the same each time: “Not yet, but the next time we are here.”
Luckily for us, although we did not let the rain ruin our day and we actually really enjoyed the atmosphere created by the clouds hanging in the forest, it stopped raining during the afternoon. And so we had some time to test out how it is to live with an own infinite pool, even if the water was quite cool due to the strong rain for the last days.
For dinner we decided to book something special instead of going to the regular restaurant to further enjoy our pool and celebrate our two years anniversary. We chose the floating sunset sensation, which is a huge boat, floating on the own pool and transporting a lot of different food.
As you can see, it is really huge and offers many different things from lobster over sashimi sushi to a plate full of cheese. The original menu was actually quite different but it was adapted for us since we did not eat meat (on the original one also contained things like Kobe beef).
Unfortunately (and a little bit expected) it started raining once more. So we just moved all the food inside our villa and decided to finish the dinner while sitting in our giant bathtub and listening to the rain outside.
