Our last day at the Desa Seni Village Resort already arrived (well, not that tricky since we booked only for two nights) and so we packed our luggage once more but with even more things than we had on our arrival after quickly visiting the local gift shop. Additionally we got two new sarongs as a gift from the hotel.
Over night it was raining heavily (it was the first rain during the time we spent in Indonesia). And although it wasn’t really cold, one preferred to spend the remaining time under the blanket, listening to the on-off-rain and the sound of the last drops falling onto the roof from the trees above. We checked out in time but stayed for some more time at the pool since Svenja booked a Chakra therapy for 3 pm because earlier was not possible.
We left the hotel with its very friendly staff at 5 pm and headed back towards Ubud and where we came from two days ago. Our target was a hotel in the north-west of Ubud near a small village called Payangan. On our way to the hotel it started to rain once again very heavily and the course was very tricky along narrow streets through the thick jungle while the rising darkness of the night was absorbing the lights.
But everything changed when we arrived at the Hanging Gardens of Bali. It was a very luxury resort situated on a hill right at a river and surrounded by thick forest. The hotel was a gift from Svenja to both of us to celebrate our two years anniversary and it was the most beautiful place we have ever been. And it got even better: Although we still do not know why our reservation got upgraded by the hotel. It wasn’t a false booking from our side or something else since we checked the booking together with the reception on our arrival. Anyway, when we reached the “elevator” (which is basically a small railway similar to but smaller than the Polybahn driving up and down the hill) we got informed that we are now allowed to stay at a Panoramic Villa with our own infinite pool, which is basically the second highest even possible category of rooms for the full resort.
Its almost impossible to describe our astonishment and happiness.
The wonderful view from our room onto the jungle (although it is quite cloudy and sporadically raining at that time). Behind the window you can still see the infinite pool: we measured its size to be one fully stretched Nino times 3 full stretched Ninos plus one Nino head.
