For our second day of the PADI Open Water course we joined the day-boat of Dive Komodo. As on the first day our instructor was Stu who was supported by J.T. doing his dive master training. The boat had a crew of 4 people taking care of everything. They gave their best preparing all the equipment and refilling the tanks during our dives, transporting us to new dive sites or cooking amazing lunch while we were relaxing or briefing for the next dive. Additionally there was Rian (diving for 17 years) who was visiting Komodo already for the second time to explore the beautiful underwater world.
While the first day was crammed with learning skills in shallow water (6 meters) we were finally able to go on our first two open water dives and explore the real beauty of the dive sites. Although our depth was still limited to 12 meters (which was already fairly enough) we were diving through endless reefs full of corals and breathtaking creatures while at the same time practicing our buoyancy. Additionally we impoved our emergency behaviours and learned to to correctly execute emergeny ascents. Tricky skills we learned the day before like recovering the regulator while diving etc seemed to be no obstacle anymore and we managed them easily.
